This event, celebrating and rewarding scientific achievement — this is a list of the winners and what they do, and at least half of it goes over my head– gets a better and better cadre of stars every year. I like to think it’s because the demonic toad running our health department has been such a threat to actual health and advancement that people are desperate to be like, “LOOK AT ALL THE SCIENCE. IT’S HOT. DO MORE SCIENCE.”
