All these outfits are on the same model, but when Michael Halpern first debuted the collection, he made a movie in which he put them all on frontline workers, and let them talk about how life has been for them since Covid hit. Vogue has a piece about it in which he said:

“We had an opportunity to make a collection and show our support for these frontline workers by giving them a great day, to get dressed up and have their hair and makeup done. The concept wasn’t a grand idea, it just made sense. […] I didn’t want to do fantasy and ignore what’s happening in the world. Fashion should prop people up and give people a break, especially when they’ve been having such a terrible time.”

I wish we’d gotten stills from the movie, but this model is SO masterful in this photo shoot that I cannot complain. This is my favorite slideshow in a long time, and these ooze glee at a time when glee is in short supply.
