I must remind you of the history of this event, because it is BONKERS. The event has had a long-running legal feud with the Critics Choice Awards, and its Wiki has been edited since I wrote that last post and no longer includes the following:

On January 9, 2023, the Los Angeles Times ranked the film awards 15th out of 15 events, highlighting its “improbable continued existence” and the co-founder, Scott Menzel, being “obsessed” with Kristen Stewart, to whom he presented an award. On June 2, 2023, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that HCA President Nikki Fowler had resigned from the organization citing a “hostile, biased” work environment. On June 14, 2023, The Wrap announced that the Hollywood Critics Association was going to “restructure” amid accusations of racial bias. The announcement came after Fowler went public with accusations against the executive team and board, including co-founder, Scott Menzel, who remains at the head of the organization.

WILD. Someone noted the following on the Wiki’s “talk” page:

An individual very closely associated with the organization keeps trying to remove information from the page in an attempt to present a biased and selectively edited history of the group’s history while leaving misleading but favorable content included. Total removal of the page might be the best solution and should be considered.

DRAMA. I want a movie about this. Let’s see what people wore, anyway. I will say, their guest list is improving. We’ve got some Oscars nominee hopefuls in here. Also Sharon Stone!
