I am kicking myself for not paying more attention to the Saturday Night Live festivities, because we ABSOLUTELY should have done a Drinks With Broads live chat of the 50th anniversary show. For some reason I thought was just a huge party, but apparently THAT was Saturday night proper; Friday was the huge concert special, and Sunday, a special tribute show. My lightboxes for both of those are so big and there’s really no way to pare them down, because it’s either a) mega-famous celebs, or b) cast members from all over the eras, or c) both, because sometimes people are both. Everywhere you looked, it was A-listers. Kevin Costner’s seats for the concert were in like the tenth row, because that’s just how it had to shake out.
We covered Emma Stone yesterday (an SNL fave and also married to a former writer), because we could not withhold the popcorn pockets. But here are all the other non-cast member guests from Sunday’s show, and frankly, I am definitely missing people. It was so much to keep up with that I’m positive someone slipped through my grasp. Some didn’t walk the red carpet — for example, we only saw Jack Nicholson because they cut away to him, and sidebar, while I am not a huge fan, his presence — when he rarely goes anywhere else — underscores what a BIG deal this was. Later today, we’ll get the cast, then the same two compilations from Friday’s concert.
Whew. We couldn’t have done this in August, before the season started, when NO ONE IS ANYWHERE?????
