I was catching up with this current season of Abbott Elementary over the weekend, and it is SO UNDENIABLE that Sheryl Lee Ralph is absolutely perfect casting for her role. She is imminently believable as the firm-but-kind kindergarten teacher everyone loves, and you absolutely get why Quinta’s character wants her approval so much. If you aren’t watching Abbott Elementary, I recommend it — and not to sound like a square (though I definitely am one), but it’s so pleasant to have a program on the docket where I know nothing extremely terrible will happen, and which I could easily watch with my grandma. So it feels right to see Sheryl Lee Ralph honored by the Human Rights Campaign looking like a perfect Valentine, given that I definitely want to send her one.
