Interestingly, Una — Rooney’s latest — is based on the play Blackbird, for which both Jeff Daniels and Michelle Williams were nominated for Tony Awards in 2016… which was also the year this was first screened (at the Telluride Film Festival). The playwright wrote the screenplay, so what I’m saying is: 2016 was a fruitful year for that dude. The stage production is, I believe, just the two characters, whereas this one adds several roles including one for Tobias “Outlander” Menzies and Riz Ahmed. And none of that Informative Caption-style introduction changes that I dislike what Rooney is wearing.
