Four years ago, when I posted this, I put this essential question to you: Assuming you HAD to wear either a black, white, or beige shoe with this — only the steadfastly boring-but-easy options — which would you have picked? Only 11 percent of you agreed with black (the rest were split almost in half between the other two; beige won a slight edge). Without restrictions, I’d have grabbed something gold, but the point is that the black does to most of us seem too heavy. I also think this is a perfectly adorable dress that absolutely does not need pink wings. Just rip those suckers off and live blissfully in cap sleeves. I stand by all those choices today, except… I still can’t decide which boring basic I would have gone with, beige or white, if you told me the fate of the world depended on it being one of them and on me getting it right. I don’t even remember my vote from last time. I think white? I almost never pick beige. I’m curious how a new poll’s results would line up with the original’s, and so…
