There is something comforting to me about the fact that Renee Zellweger has chosen, for her big return to the red carpet as the star of a marquee film, to wear the most Renee Zellweger-y of looks. This is CLASSIC Renee: off-the-shoulder, mid-length sheath by Carolina Herrera (EDIT: I lied, turns out this is actually Ulyana Sergeenko MY BAD. But you feel me); French twist with face-framing wisps of hair; pointy heels. It’s like…Renee is wearing a Renee costume. (Also: It has pockets!) This is not a complaint! I find it comforting, and it also makes sense: You’re probably not going to dive back into the red carpet craziness wearing, like, pleather chaps and a hat made of bear claws and ding-dongs if you’re also a person who purposefully removed herself from Hollywood for half a decade.  You’re gonna ease yourself back in. EASE AWAY, Renee! We’re glad you’re back.
