First of all, how exciting it was that she won? Her speech was so, so lovely, and everyone’s delight for her was infectious — Benedict Cumberbatch actually cried. Seeing Bendywick Cumberbunches crying makes ME cry. Her date, her brother, was charming and delightful. She’s just wonderful. That being said, I have gone back and forth and back again on this. I’m coming down, I think, on the side of this being quite lovely but not everything I wanted it to be. The color is great, and it moves beautifully — so beautifully that I can’t stop pulling photos of it — but the cut of the bodice needs a necklace, and it’s a little too similar in shape to this, I think, and also I am not a fan of the headband. It skews it a little too twee, for me. I’m sure a lot of you will disagree, but for my money, this is just a solid B and not the smashing A+ I wanted it to be.
But, honestly, who cares about me? What do you think?
