Yes, we’re all in March. It’s March forever! And many people (read: me) are feeling weird about the anniversary of the pandemic and I cannot fix that for you, but I CAN give you some very VERY very pretty outfits to look at?

The Oscar de la Renta Fall/Winter 2021 collection is a tribute to late summer, when sunflowers and wildflowers radiate in glorious full bloom. Inspired by the splendor of nature, the collection has its origins in flowers gathered and pressed in collaboration with artist Tricia Paoluccio.

The collection reaches a crescendo with a tulle ball gown, ablaze with crystalized bows and featuring an open back and high neck. Distinctively, ethereally feminine, this spectacular creation was 120 hours in the making and is the definitive Oscar de la Renta statement.

The final ballgown is glorious — hopefully, we’ll get actual red carpets at Cannes (safely!) and someone will wear it? I’d love to see it in the wild. Let’s take a look! (And the pressed art work is really cool; you can see more of Paoluccio’s work here.)
