Every year, I feel like Louis Vuitton just packs its people off to the Met in a bunch of its regular stuff. I’m sure this is not exclusive to them; certainly Cara Delevingne, for example, used a Dior runway outfit as a springboard. But on LV it somehow comes across as more cookie-cutter, by and large — like how so many of the women here are connected by their shiny Post-It belts, which are a runway accessory — and I wish it didn’t. So many other designers find a way to really go for it.
