I PROMISE you that Billy Ikehorn showed up at work one day wearing exactly this. And probably something very dramatic and ’80s happened. Like Nancy Reagan came into the store and was unnecessarily mean to her, and then everyone did a bunch of cocaine and talked about Corvettes.

While we’re on the topic, Scruples is REAL cheap on Kindle right now and you can get the classic hardcover used VERY reasonably as well (I don’t know why Amazon’s photo for the hardcover looks like a copy that someone lost in the bottom of her locker for nine months). You might have a friend on your holiday gift list who would LOVE a three-pack of Scruples, Scruples II, and Lovers (the last book in the trilogy, which I don’t love but you gotta collect ‘em all). A bunch of mass market paperbacks of the greatest works of Judith Krantz would be potentially SO fun as a gift, especially to someone who might have the same fond memories of mass market paperbacks as I do — of absolutely perfectly lazy vacations. You could do the same with a bunch of mass markets of Jackie Collins books, too. Like all the Hollywood Wives books! If you wanted to go the extra mile, you could package the books with something from the Vacation people, who have absolutely amazing ’80s packaging (and I love their perfume). It would be, as the kids say, a real vibe. I swear I didn’t mean for this to turn into a little gift guide but I guess ’tis the season.
