I looked at Lexi in this dress and thought, “I feel like I’ve seen this exact thing on Reese Witherspoon…?” God bless Google, and also stylists. Turns out we did indeed see it on her at the 2014 Met Gala, whose theme was couturier Charles James, specifically his penchant for complicated and architectural gowns. Which this is not. BUT! That was a discussion for 2014; in many ways Elle Woods herself is the human version of a complex gown, so perhaps that works.
