Kristen is promoting the long-awaited Spencer, a Pablo Larrain movie about one weekend in Princess Diana’s life, and she’s gotten excellent reviews for her portrayal. And honestly, curiosity about Kristen is probably the only reason I would see this? I didn’t like Larrain’s Jackie, and between The Crown and that Naomi Watts movie and the incredibly cringey-sounding musical that was headed for Broadway, I feel like we have reached a saturation point on Diana stories. Then again, I had issues with Emma Corrin’s performance as Diana, also, so there’s something delicious in the idea that Bella Swan herself might be the best of the Princess Di avatars. It won’t be enough to get me back into a movie theater, but if it’s in Kevin’s batch of screeners come wintertime, I might not say no.
