We already saw a floral D&G from her, and she spent the summer in some bright day dresses, so it’s no real surprise that Kerry has trotted out a lively slate of stuff for her Scandal promotion.

And maybe we won’t get one. It looks like she spent $9.99 on it at Forever 21, because she just wanted something short to show off the red boots. It is spectacularly unflattering, also, as if the maker just sort of sewed together the open ends of a poncho. Also, on Colbert last night, she touted the Neutrogena lip color she helped develop that supposedly looks good on everyone — she wore it, and so did Nicole Kidman at the Emmys — and its reddish tones would’ve been a better choice than this. It actually looked weird with that D&G, so it makes sense that she only wore it so they could a) promote it, and b) enable the segment where she whipped one out of her cleavage and applied it to Stephen. She should’ve brandished one again.

And it is GREAT on her. I also must applaud that she didn’t pull out a white pump here; that teal is much better. It’s the perfect elegant complement. I wonder if she embraces florals and unusual shapes so much because for her day job, she’s restricted to black, white, navy, sometimes tan, and LOTS of slacks. I’d branch out, too.
