I was intrigued by this project when they cast Daniel Radcliffe as Weird Al Yankovic, but once the first trailer came out… it just all made sense. I LOVE that they are honoring the king of parody by making a movie that, itself, parodies musical biopics. And the cast list is intense. Quinta Brunson as Oprah! Conan as Andy Warhol! Thomas Lennon as Accordion Salesman! Jack Black, Dot-Marie Jones, Julianne Nicholson, Rainn Wilson, Patton Oswalt! Weird Al as… not Weird Al! And honestly, good luck to the Madonna biopic, because Evan Rachel Wood makes a fantastic Madonna.

Let’s just embed the damn thing:

It’s streaming on the Roku Channel starting this weekend. If you don’t have a Roku, I think you can still get the channel, and there’s a free version, but surely this won’t be free?!? No disrespect to Roku but this seems like a risky waste of a project people will want to see, but may lack the energy to seek.
