Hooray! We’re so excited that our most recent novel, The Heir Affair — our sequel to The Royal We — is out in paperback today! (And with a bonus extra chapter, as a treat.) We truly hope you enjoy it. And it feels so right that it comes out on the day of the All-Star Game, considering that is has some Baseball Content.

Here’s more about The Heir Affair:

Making it up the aisle was the easy part: Rebecca “Bex” Porter must survive her own scandals and adjust to royal British life in this “positively delicious” follow-up to The Royal We that’s “just as fun, charming, and delightful as the first” (Taylor Jenkins Reid).

After a scandalous secret turns their fairy-tale wedding into a nightmare, Rebecca “Bex” Porter and her husband Prince Nicholas are in self-imposed exile. The public is angry. The Queen is even angrier. And the press is salivating. Cutting themselves off from friends and family, and escaping the world’s judgmental eyes, feels like the best way to protect their fragile, all-consuming romance. But when a crisis forces the new Duke and Duchess back to London, the Band-Aid they’d placed over their problems starts to peel at the edges. Now, as old family secrets and new ones threaten to derail her new royal life, Bex has to face the emotional wreckage she and Nick left behind: with the Queen, with the world, and with Nick’s brother Freddie, whose sins may not be so easily forgotten—nor forgiven.

Yes, there are a LOT of people having romantic problems in this book! (Many of which are of their own making.) And we are biased, but we think this book, and its predecessor, The Royal We, are your perfect summer reads. Take them to the pool! Take them to the lake! Take them to read in the waiting room for the eye doctor appointment that you put off for a year and see if your reading glasses are still cutting it!

You can buy The Heir Affair in paperback at:

And, of course, by strolling into your local independent bookstore!

If you haven’t read The Royal We yet, there’s still time to catch up! (And this way, you don’t have to wait five years to read the sequel.) You can grab her at:

And also at your local indie!

And speaking of local indies, we’re super excited to be doing an event with the AMAZING Casey McQuiston on Thursday, July 15th, with one of our very favorites, The Ripped Bodice in Culver City. This is a virtual event, streamed live on their Facebook page at 5pm, and we’d love to see you there. You can RSVP for that event here, and  buy a signed copy from them here! (Put “signed copy” in the comments!) (It’s a bookplate but you know!)

If you’d rather get into it tonight, we are excited to be chatting with the great Jasmine Guillory about her new book, While We Were Dating, which ALSO comes out today, and which is SO good. We’re doing a virtual event celebrating her publication day at 4pm Pacific on the Parnassus Books Facebook page, and all the details are here! Parnassus also should have signed copies! (Put “signed copy” in the comments!)
