We’re very delighted to be giving away a prize pack of books that we wrote today, in honor of the fact that The Heir Affair comes out a week from today in paperback! — and with a bonus chapter in the back, just as a little fun extra (we did one for the The Royal We paperback as well, from Freddie’s perspective; this one is from a totally different character).

In case you missed it when it came out last summer, The Heir Affair is the sequel to The Royal We — and it is, as I always put it, a sequel-sequel, in that you probably need to read the first one first to get the whole gist.  Luckily, we’re giving away signed copies of both books today: The brand new paperback of The Heir Affair, and the mass-market (or, as I call it, the poolside beach-bag version) of The Royal We. (As an FYI, The Heir Affair will come with signed bookplates, just because Heather and I are not in the same country at the moment to sign inside the books; The Royal We itself is signed on the title page.)

Here’s more about both books. This is the flap-copy for The Royal We:

American Bex Porter was never one for fairy tales. Her twin sister Lacey was always the romantic, the one who daydreamed of being a princess. But it’s adventure-seeking Bex who goes to Oxford and meets dreamy Nick across the hall – and Bex who finds herself accidentally in love with the heir to the British throne.

Nick is wonderful, but he comes with unimaginable baggage: a complicated family, hysterical tabloids tracking his every move, and a public that expected its future king to marry a Brit. On the eve of the most talked-about wedding of the century, Bex looks back on how much she’s had to give up for true love… and exactly whose heart she may yet have to break.

And for The Heir Affair:

Making it up the aisle was the easy part: Rebecca “Bex” Porter must survive her own scandals and adjust to royal British life in this “positively delicious” follow-up to The Royal We that’s “just as fun, charming, and delightful as the first” (Taylor Jenkins Reid).

After a scandalous secret turns their fairy-tale wedding into a nightmare, Rebecca “Bex” Porter and her husband Prince Nicholas are in self-imposed exile. The public is angry. The Queen is even angrier. And the press is salivating. Cutting themselves off from friends and family, and escaping the world’s judgmental eyes, feels like the best way to protect their fragile, all-consuming romance.

But when a crisis forces the new Duke and Duchess back to London, the Band-Aid they’d placed over their problems starts to peel at the edges. Now, as old family secrets and new ones threaten to derail her new royal life, Bex has to face the emotional wreckage she and Nick left behind: with the Queen, with the world, and with Nick’s brother Freddie, whose sins may not be so easily forgotten—nor forgiven.

As one of the people who wrote this book, it’s accurate and fair that my reaction is: DRAMA! It’s true. (But I’m really just going to share the blurb we got from Entertainment Weekly, bless them: “God save the queen? More like God save these books.” THANK YOU, EW.)

We’ll be giving away five sets of signed books, and for once this giveaway is open to everyone!

THE TASK: As usual, I’ll be picking the winner at random. To enter, please share your favorite all-time book about people having romantic problems.

THE RULES: All entries must be posted in the comments of this post by 9 p.m. Pacific time on Friday. FYI, if this is the first time you’ve commented here, the system will automatically kick you into comment moderation, but don’t worry, I will rescue you.  (Open to all readers; all prizing courtesy of me and Heather. We use affiliate links when available, like the ones above.)
