Hannah Waddingham is a divine being, as far as I can tell, so it’s not that she doesn’t look foxy here — if perhaps aggressively bronzed and glittered, in a version of That Same Vampire’s Wife Dress Everyone Has Worn Six Times. But, even with the shoes, it’s really more Post-Christmas Letdown than Pre-Christmas Euphoria. Maybe Hannah felt like she’d sufficiently decked the halls on the actual set of her Apple TV Christmas special, so she felt safe toning it down here. But… this far down? It’s not that I needed her to come out in a red velvet dress with white fur trim, an insouciant Jack In The Box popping out of the brown sack slung over her shoulder and ten hot shirtless elves carrying her on a litter, but… okay fine maybe I needed that.
