One of the commenters on our Ghostbusters post said of its 2021 predecessor, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, “It felt like the elevator pitch was, ‘Let’s make a Ghostbusters reboot for all those people who got worked up over the lady-centric version! We’ll hire Paul Rudd!” And if I remember correctly, Jason Reitman more or less said this in a podcast (and then tried to walk it back, but the damage was done), so I have had a grudge against all these enterprises that has no bearing in their actual quality. With that transparency out of the way, here we have Finn Wolfhard, Paul Rudd, McKenna Grace, and director Gil Kenan, all looking just fine at the premiere in Spain. Cazafantasmas is such a great dramatic-sounding translation. I do have a question about Paul’s outfit. Do we think… if he loses the undershirt, does he look MORE like he’s your mother’s cousin who showed up to Thanksgiving with a bottle of moonshine and a gift for you that would have been great if you were still four? Because I find the Hanes distracting here but it’s possible that it’s glue holding the outfit together. I can’t tell. I need you.
