HAPPY FRIDAY! I don't know about you but my personal mood has improved markedly since, say, Tuesday. Hope you had a great week and have a fun weekend planned.
At Drinks With Broads: Our recap of The Gilded Age are back! Heather experienced the 4D version of Wicker, and we had an open chat on Election Day to commiserate and eventually celebrate. And we had the long-awaited, spoiler-full conversation about You Can See Everything, which you MUST see if you haven't. Try to go in blind!
Here at GFY, we rounded up some picks from the Sephora sale! We also had a good chat about your current favorite dinner recipe.
Our top three best-selling products here at GFY this past week were: (1) This Fair Isle cardigan, which is currently 50% off and an extra 10% off with the code GLEAM. (I love the white colorway.) (2) The Quince jeans, of course, which I think I'm going to get in black. (3) This diamond stacking ring from Ross Simon (it's under $100).
I clicked on this so fast: The Mysterious Case of the Real Agatha Christie
There's a new Met Gala theme. Per Vogue's Instagram announcement, it is “extraORDINARY: fashion and the poetics of the everyday.” The post continues, saying, "Organized by Curator in Charge Andrew Bolton, with assistance from Stephanie Kramer and Emily Mushaben, the exhibition will be devoted to the undersung beauty and allure of quotidian garments—think the aforementioned t-shirts and jeans, plus raincoats, sweatshirts, puffer jackets, and more. It will ask visitors 'to see the everyday anew,' says Bolton, and come at its subject from two perspectives: First, by exploring how designers have reinvented and elevated archetypal garments into runway-worthy creations and then, by highlighting how humble, even 'disposable' materials—like paper, aluminum, and plastic—are transformed into wearable art." That last bit sounds potentially interesting but this feels like a PUNT from Vogue after the Galliano debacle.
I'm SO EXCITED about this Prep adaptation!

Sad to see that Salon is ceasing publication. It is HARD out there for publishers.
The folks over at Antler have given us access to their Black Friday sale early, so you can grab any luggage you might need for Thanksgiving travel – which makes good sense! Use code HEATHER&JESSSM30 for 30% off. (I love this little carry-on bag, and this little expandable one, too.)

Macy's is also having sales all month, so if you want to get a jump on shopping, make sure you pop over there too. They've always got decent prices on their women's cashmere – everyone loves cashmere. And I dig this slouchy sweater, which is marked down as of this typing.
The Onion is trying to get a bowl game. This would be amazing.

I am working on a shopping post for holiday outfits right now, and J.McLaughlin's new Holiday Collection is VERY CUTE. This tartan skirt is perfect for Christmas festivities, and I really want one of you to buy these sequined pants. And this metallic skirt is so good. We have a special code: HJ20 for 20% off!
J.Crew also has some very cute holiday sweaters; this one in the red feels so cozy and '80s.

I just got an email that Forme – the pricy posture bras – are having a 20%-off sale right now. They're VERY good bras, albeit still pretty spendy even with the discount. You can use HSA/FSA though, if you've got some money to spend there – and they have military, first responder, and teacher discounts! In case you've been wavering.
I will ALWAYS read about what I should be buying at European pharmacies, although I do not have a Euro trip planned at the moment. She IS RIGHT about the cold medicine. I had to take some decongestant in Italy two summers ago and MY GOD, it worked.
Bon Appetit is promising you the best Thanksgiving yet! (I'm going out for ours and I'M THRILLED.)
