Between the It Ends With Us lawsuits, rumors that they've stressed out her marriage, and her conspicuous absence from Taylor Swift's wedding, Blake has kept an extremely low profile recently. But she chanced an outing in New York the other night for the opening of some envelope or another – okay, it was a holiday capsule collection launch from someone I assume is her friend – and pulled out a 1994 Chanel dress for the occasion. And one does not pull out vintage Chanel sequins for any old jaunt, so clearly, she knew this was a test balloon of sorts, and wanted to make a ritzy impression. As you would; it has been a ROUGH stretch, and in her shoes – no matter what you think of her – it would be easy to psych yourself out of EVER leaving your living room again. The dress itself is really pretty, but it could have a lot more impact if Blake would admit she could benefit from a stylist. The black bucket purse and shoes aren't doing anything to bring this to life – and once you're disengaged, it's a lot easier to notice that the top bow looks a little crumpled, and the bottom one, like Gumby if he were run over by a steamroller. For a party with no red carpet, I'm sure it's all fine; for a tentative return to the public eye, though, it might not be the homer for which she'd hoped.
