Thank you for another fun and festive year here at Go Fug Yourself, everyone! 2018 promises to be an exciting one, with a royal wedding and a new royal baby, plus the potential train-wreck of the Met Gala (the theme is “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” which is going to be an amazing museum exhibit and a VERY treacherous dress code), the Olympics, and, of course, the upcoming joy of awards season. Thank you, also, for sticking with us through this, our thirteenth year. It is increasingly frightening and difficult to be an independent blog in today’s media landscape, and you make it all worth it. May this new year bring us all joy, health, and prosperity wherever we seek it.

To that end, in looking over our data, I realized that our royals coverage did very well this year, so it made sense for me to break out our annual look back at our most-read posts of the year into royalty-related coverage, and non-royalty related coverage (or, as I’m calling them royals posts, and regular posts). I also — for you methodology enthusiasts! — discounted television recaps (although I have to note that y’all LOVE yourself some Outlander, which makes us very happy) and Royals Round-Ups, which are also quite popular. In perhaps interesting data developments, events like Halloween and Coachella continue to pique Fug Nation’s curiosity, but everyone’s kinda over Victoria’s Secret’s big fashion show. Also: You guys love Rihanna — so do I! — which makes her hosting the Met Gala a potential perfect storm of yay. Please join me for a look back at our top twenty posts of 2017, as we move into the future.
