As a reminder, upfronts are when networks and streamers drag out the stars of their current and/or premiering shows and make them do their best jazz hands for advertisers so said advertisers will shell out some cash “upfront” — see! — to make sure they get their products in front of audience eyeballs once the new TV season gets going. It’s also when networks announce their new slate of programming and/or whatever they’ve got percolating. This is obviously not as concentrated now as it used to be, as TV “seasons” have gotten way more fluid over the last ten years. But still! We all persevere. Despite the fact that I have no idea what anyone is promoting anymore. I guess I’ll just make it all up!
