We got a lovely spate of first-time winners at the Creative Arts Emmys, where they handed out the four guest actor awards, as well as Supporting Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology, or TV Movie — and even if some of these categories had gone in several other directions, it STILL would’ve been a first-time win for a lot of them, which is lovely. The glorious Betty Gilpin emerged victorious for Widow’s Bay, and David Harbour and Linda Cardellini both took it for DTF St. Louis, while Ernest Harden, Jr., earned his at age 73 for a heart-wrenching guest turn on The Pitt. Shailene Woodley up there quite rightly won for Paradise, and finally, casting Emmys went to The Pitt and Widow’s Bay. It foretells a stellar night on Sept. 14 for both of those shows, but particularly Widow’s Bay. The mayor would be THRILLED by this attention.
