I get the vibe that Emma Stone is at a place in her life where she’s just not that interested in the public-facing hustle or the high fashion of it all, and is therefore completely content with a designer contract that takes a lot of the thought out of it. I don’t mean to be dismissive of the work her stylist does, but frankly, I hope her stylist isn’t putting much work into this because none of it feels like Emma herself is that invested; she has seemed content getting the short end of the Louis Vuitton stick, and I would hate to think a lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into all this meh. She looks like someone told her to put on a bodysuit and then knotted her into this sheer poncho-dress and called it a day.

If you want to compare the runway styling, here you go; the main difference is that those necklaces are chunkier and black. And here is a side view, with a guest appearance by both her husband and Kieran Culkin:

For a second, I thought the strings were tied to the skirt as well, but they’re just dangling. Still, the side view makes it even worse to me. I like her a lot, but to me this says, “Shrug, maybe it’ll motivate us to leave early.”
