Ella Emhoff, daughter of Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff and stepdaugher of our VPOTUS, signed with IMG Models shortly after cruising through the inauguration looking like the coolest person there. (Her sparkly Miu Miu coat was divisive on at least one of my group text chains, but the way she carried it was not.) This Proenza show is her debut, and if you wish you could see her walk, wish granted: The line has an extensive multi-media site that shows video clips and other angles on the outfits. I can’t really tell yet what to make of her runway skills, but I’ll say this, I’ll take her over Kaia Gerber any day. I find her MUCH more interesting. She’s in here three times, including as the closer. Otherwise, I’ve lost track a bit of what this brand’s personality is; I remember loving its Target collab back when they were still starry newcomers challenging Marc Jacobs for Fashion Week buzz, but that’s dimmed, and it’s hard to tell anymore.
