I was looking at all these photos and thinking how relieved I am that none of my friends have black-tie gala birthday parties. Obviously Beyonce is going to go all-out, but I just tried to imagine someone I know having a big formal 50th bash and me turning up with 60 percent of my lower half hanging out, and it involved ZERO relaxation.
