The Met Gala is BACK! And while Heather and I are going to cover it the way we usually do for the rest of the day — by breaking out each post by designer — we thought it made sense to start off with the Kardashians, as Kim wore what will likely be one of the most-discussed look of the night and she’s certainly the only one in early Bob Mackie.

In case you missed it, the current exhibition at the Met is “In America: An Anthology of Fashion” — and it looks rad — but the dress code of gala was “Gilded Glamour.” Vogue itself literally said, “Dust off Edith Wharton’s Age of Innocence and The House of Mirth. The 2022 Met Gala will ask its attendees to embody the grandeur—and perhaps the dichotomy—of Gilded Age New York.” Many folks took artistic liberties with that directive, and so be it. I’m sure Tom Ford is just pleased that no one wore a hamburger.
