Keke Palmer won Fug Madness in 2017, and then had an extremely low-key year after that, primarily working on Star. But toward the end of 2018 she started promoting an indie called Pimp that kept screening throughout 2019, and subsequently stormed back with Scream the TV series, Hustlers, and a co-hosting gig on GMA with Strahan and Sara that put her in people’s homes regularly. The result was an uptick in red carpet appearances, and yes, there are some rocky outfits in here, but here’s the thing: There are more near-misses than WHOA misses, and that’s good, right?
