The National Board of Review held their big gala last night, Golden Globes are this Tuesday, we find out who’s going to be nominated for a SAG on Wednesday (although weirdly the SAGs did not yet have a TV home yet), Oscar nominations are announced the 24th, and we already know the Independent Spirit Awards nominations. We are officially in awards season! Danielle Deadwyler did not get nominated for her work in Till for the Globes, but Gold Derby still has her very much in the running for the Oscar (although they think it’s really going to be a footrace between Cate Blanchett and Michelle Yeoh), and she took home “Breakthrough Performance” at this event, thus I suspect we’re going to see a LOT of her over the next few weeks. Which is exciting, because her red carpet work is always interesting. Let’s see what she put on this weekend.
