Virginie Viard was widely quoted as saying she was having fun using punkier flourishes in this collection than they would normally do with a runway show, and the result has flashes of Kristen Stewart — a collaboration that always seemed odd before — and also like a ritzy fashion-mag spread.  The more designers do smaller collections and explore creative digital presentations, the more I wonder if this is a more sustainable form of Fashion Week long-term. Yes, in 2-D, you miss some of the texture and movement, but to me it’s really only the stylists who benefit from that up-close look and I’m curious how many of them would gladly forgo the long hauls twice a year during busy seasons.
