Even when T’Challa lived, Wakanda was rife with powerful women, so it’s fitting that so many premiere attendees paid tribute to the franchise’s feminine power (which may be even more central now) by wearing white. Once primarily associated with purity, white came to represent sisterhood, solidarity, and resistance when the Suffragette movement aligned with that hue. Leading the way: Chadwick Boseman’s wife, Simone Ledward Boseman. How much brighter this premiere would’ve been, had he been there, no matter what color he wore.
