Beetlejuice Beetlejuice opened up its promo schedule in Mexico, sadly without Winona Ryder but WITH both the titular demon and the movie’s new lead, Jenna Ortega. Oh, and Justin Theroux, who sort of looks like he came in last and Michael Keaton hasn’t realized he’s standing there. His character is married to Winona and is Jenna’s father, and Monica over there is playing Betelgeuse’s ex-wife. Monica and Michael DO make a pretty great-looking couple, so I assume that will hold true even in whatever cosmetic heinousness is appled to them. You can only do so much to dim Monica Bellucci’s light.
Jenna seems to have chosen… not thematically, EXACTLY, but this archival Vivienne Westwood does have the vibe of being a very pretty tangle of spider legs draped in cobwebs. It feels tailor-made for a Tim Burton flick, but not SO on-the-nose that she showed up as a literal glass of juice with beetles crawling out of it. Ideal.
