I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but Ralph Lauren — which is UNPARALLELED in its understanding of presentation, generally — kind of whiffed this photographical set-up! They usually have somewhere for people to get snapped that lets the clothes stand out. (Also I feel like every time I’ve gone to a Ralph show, the whole thing just felt….deliciously rich.) Folks are blending into the carpet/chairs here. Very unusual! This was at the Museum of Modern Art, which is a FANTASTIC place to have a show otherwise, though. Perhaps you can’t have everything.
