This is, from left to right, Jamie Lee Curtis, Chad Michael Murray, Julia Butters, LiLo, Elaine Hendrix, Manny Jacinto, and Sophia Hammons. Butters plays Lindsay’s DAUGHTER, if you want to feel like the crypt keeper, a crack from the original movie that never gets old — but although she looks like she could be Rose Byrne here, she’s only 16, which at least makes me feel LESS like I am about to turn to dust. In fact, everyone in this photo other than JLC and CMM looks weirdly like they could be in the same narrow demographic.

JLC’s Cinq a Sept suit is fun, and CMM looks amusingly like he is both a T-Bird and a Pink Lady. Always bringing people together, that one! Manny’s waistband appears to be cinchable via the kind of adjustment straps you’d see on a Jansport. And I’m going to add Lindsay to my list of celebs who I hope stop wearing white (unless they really nail the makeup, which she did not here), which includes Nicole Kidman, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Pamela Anderson.

Freakier Friday NYC Special Screening

Prior to the event, Andrew Mukamal posted to his stories a photo of Sarah Jessica Parker from the Sex and the City credits, in the bodysuit and the tutu, with no other context. I thought nothing of it at the time, but now I get it; this is a riff on that, right down to the shoes. Why is it a riff on that? No idea. I don’t understand how it fits into anything else they’ve been doing. Freaky Friday came out a month before the final season premiered, but… unless her character has a misplaced Carrie Bradshaw fantasy in the midst of this Disney movie, I don’t get it. Besides which, for me, that outfit is iconic, but not because it’s GOOD. It’s just MEMORABLE, partly because a bus dumps puddle water on her. Perhaps that’s the plan for the afterparty.
