First, I have questions about this theme, “Dangerous Liaisons: Fashion and Furniture in the 18th Century.” Were they just trying to use Dangerous Liaisons as a sexy reference because they wanted everyone to show up ready for a period love quadrangle? Or was Anna like, “You know, sometimes old-timey fashion REALLY didn’t play well with chairs, so let’s do a whole thing about THAT.” I could Google it but I much prefer to imagine Anna Wintour harboring a deep-seated resentment of how clothes interacted with settees in the 1700s.
