Angelina went dark for the U.S. premiere of Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, and the opposite direction in Japan with this fringey Ralph & Russo number. It’s quite beautiful on her. I am not sold on the hair — it’s not even a half; it’s more like a quarter-updo — but the frock fits perfectly and it’s twinkling and glamorous and very Major Movie Star. I also enjoy Maddox’s mischievous eye-twinkle and Zahara’s smile that seems so teen girl to me, like, “Yeah, you guys think my mom is cool now but wait until she GROUNDS YOU for just wanting to go to 7-Eleven for midnight pizza.” Her dress… not my favorite, but whatever, she’s 14 and she’s not a celebrity with a stylist.

Well, that’s not overly dramatic or anything. Sheesh. I WONDER WHO IT COULD BE UP THERE.

Quite an entrance. And this dress was perfect for it. She comes out of the green smoke twinkling like a hero. Will that turn into a metaphor for the movie? I mean… probably not given that we know what Maleficent does to Sleeping Beauty, but whatever, maybe they’ll just reboot that whole story. It’s all the rage, after all.
