I ALWAYS want to know what Fug Nation is adopting, changing, giving up, or trying as we move into a new year. As for myself, I think one of mine is going to be easier than the others but I might be surprised by which one is harder:

  1. One year, I made the resolution that I was going to actually hang up my jeans rather than leave them in a pile on the floor. (This kicked off a very heated discussion on my Facebook page about the virtues of hanging jeans v. folding them; personally, I find it easier to hang as much as I can, because I’m a person who loses things in drawers. I also have more closet space than I do drawer space.) I did very well with this and now only leave my jeans on the floor when I’m REALLY stressed or sick. I think of this first resolution as being in the same category: I’m going to try to be more conscientious about properly washing my face before I go to bed.  I have a really bad habit of just, like, wiping my face off. Apparently, I am VERY LAZY at night.
  2. I’m going to exercise more but I’m not really making this one a resolution as much as it’s just the new plan. I moved to a place that is much more conducive to walking around, so this should not be that tough.
  3. I have vowed that I am not going to buy any new clothes this year. At all. (Well, I have a few caveats: If something that I honestly need falls apart, I can replace it. But I do mean need — I’m talking like, if I will be totally without a flesh-toned bra, or my sneakers catch on fire. And if I am asked to be in Meghan Markle’s bridal party, I am allowed to buy my bridesmaid’s gown. But that’s it.) This, I actually think will be easier than it sounds, but we shall see.

What about you?
