This topic popped into my head because I live near a store that is primarily focused on dinosaur items — it did miss an opportunity to call itself The Dino Store — and I think it’s (a) charming and (b) smart, because kids will always be into dinosaurs. But also kids get obsessed with all kinds of stuff: horses, Greek gods, myths and legends, gymnastics, the Bubonic plague (yes, I was fascinated by the plague), snakes, Pompeii (I had a thing for disasters), bear attacks (yes also me, I don’t know, I loved reading about people surviving bear attacks), cruise ships, ancient Egypt, sports of all sorts, warthogs, whatever. What kooky thing were you really into as a child?
