Back in 2008, Jessica published this and wrote, “In case you were wondering what Grace Jones is up to, she’s up to one thing: It’s called AWESOME and masks are involved.” Something tells me this is still true today. And that Grace Jones is out there somewhere, texting all her U.S.-based friends to VOTE VOTE VOTE and doing a really hard Sudoku and popping out to the store to get a sausage roll, all while wearing a 2020-style mask that has transcended our definition of what awesome can be. If anyone can elevate the mask discourse in the world right now, it’s her. She and Bjork should put their design heads together and open a store.
