I’m VERY glad they seem to be reaching into the vault for some of Her Maj’s most hideous hats of the past. But mostly: This looks very good, and seems to be tackling my own personal favorite Emotional Sticky Wicket About The Private Lives of Royals: How difficult it must be to divorce duty and desire. (Oh, that’s a good log-line — hang on while I write it down.)
Also: The previous seasons have been fantastically well-acted — I think both Vanessa Kirby and Claire Foy were tremendous — but there is something about the Olivia Colman/Tobias Menzies/Helena Bonham Carter trio that just makes you feel like you’re in very good hands.
