The annual dance to emotionally and/or literally bribe the Hollywood Foreign Press to give you a Golden Globe has officially begun. Like the first day of school, it begins earlier and earlier every year. It looks like The Assassination of Gianni Versace is making a push, although Darren Criss wasn’t present (Darren Criss may feel that he’s a shoe-in, and, frankly, he should be.)
FWIW, I still think we’ve got like a 45% change that the HFPA going to nominate Meghan Markle for her work on Suits. The HFPA is OBSESSED with A-list celebrities and will do ANYTHING to get them to show up. (She wouldn’t. But they might take the chance. TAKE THE CHANGE ON LOVE, HFPA.) Remember the time they nominated BOTH Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie for The Tourist? THE TOURIST.
