Big congrats to the folks at Thom Browne, who had a truly stellar 2021, dressing more celebs at major events this year than any year previous, according to my super-scientific method of briefly thinking about this while staring off into middle distance. (I’m pretty sure I’m right, though.) Some of this was because A KAJILLION folks wore the brand to the Met Gala in 2021 — and it’s worth noting that Thom Browne himself is the long-time partner of Andrew Brown, the Head Curator of the Costume Institute, but it’s also worth noting that they’ve been together for a while, and this is the first time so many people have worn the label to the Gala, and (as I said at the time) Thom Browne is an innovative and interesting American designer, so however this shook out, I think it was a net positive for everyone. (Don’t get me started on what a thud this year’s Met Gala theme turned out to be.) They also have a great sofa.
In addition to all the interesting looks in the slideshow, I also want to share this, of which we do not have a full-length snap from a proper photo house because this past awards season was, at least half the time, a Zoom-y shitshow that involved me and Heather scampering around grabbing things from Instagram for hours:

It’s perfect on her. This was worth the scramble!
