This was at a screening of Memoria, which Informative Caption tells me is “Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s meditative exploration of memory and the human condition,” and (a) this IS what you would wear to a meditative exploration of memory and the human condition, and (b) if I myself were making a meditative exploration of memory and the human condition, I too would cast Tilda Swinton. So everything appears to be in order here! (However, Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s version won the jury prize at Cannes and is currently doing this neat thing called “a neverending release,” whereas mine would just have Swinton, like, looking at old photos of Luke Perry and would end up only being the screensaver on your Amazon FireStick, so it’s probably for the best I am not actually in charge of this. Although I do think there is an audience for my version.)
