After her awards run, I tend to think of Stephanie Hsu in terms of either big gowns or kicky party frocks, so it was fun to see her in an ornate pants ensemble. Joy Ride is a comedy about a road trip across China; I’m curious to see how well they made British Columbia double for that. Anyway, apparently it’s slightly raunchy in the vein of Girls Trip, but also emotional at times in the vein of Bridesmaids? I’m curious to see it, and not at ALL curious to read any of what I assume will be the treatises on how it proves women can be funny and/or gross too. That was tiring enough with Bridesmaids.
