In yet another example of The More Things Change, The More They Stay The Same being a true cliche, Sofia Carson showed up at the VMAs to present an award in exactly what we would have predicted: a very large Giambattista Valli that looks like she’s using a giantess’s scrunchie as a flotation aid. (Whether or not you think she was best-dressed, she certainly was one of the MOST-dressed.) But look at how the outfit was styled:
Of ALL the times when you can get away with a filmy noggin wreath! This is practically Covid-blessed. Sure, it’s not ACTUALLY an effective mask — not that she needed one; MTV seems to have worked really hard to make it safe and comfortable — but it would have been one hell of a statement. Pro-mask AND pro-Heat Miser! Perfect.
