This is objectively kooky and yet I am not mad! Mostly, this just makes me want to see Sharon Stone in a period piece, playing a scheming marquise who floats around an estate by candlelight wearing extremely floofy gowns which belie her great cunning and intellect, spurning young lovers as she attempts to both secure a good marriage for her own daughter (Emma Stone) and thwart her life-long arch-rival (Lesley Manville). “I can’t believe I didn’t get this part!” Glenn Close will mutter into her popcorn from the back row of the Glendale AMC.
