This is what Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Jennifer Lopez, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph, among others, got to see from the front row the other day. It’ll be fun to pick and choose what might inspire them; Hunter in particular went nuts for Slide 9’s head-to-toe feathers, face included, with eyelashes glued on. I don’t always recognize the specific references Daniel Roseberry is making — a review cited Alien, The Matrix, and Westworld, as well as Charles James, but those opinions were the writer’s own, and weren’t specifically from Roseberry; he mentioned only vintage Alaia — but I’ve decided this first one is Galactic Ruth Bader Ginsberg and I will hear no more about it. And I kind of want Calista Flockhart to carry the creepy crystal baby in slide 6. It’s reminiscent of Ally McBeal’s hallucination to me. Zendaya could wear several of the outfits with dramatic necklines, but it might be a race to slide 32 between her and J.Lo.
