Sadie Sink’s styling is so off. I don’t know what it is. Maybe it’s just that I don’t know what her style is, exactly. I can’t get a read on it. She isn’t deliciously random, so much as all over the place. This is a pretty straightforward concept, but with pieces that don’t complement each other OR even really her, and it’s the shorts that vex me the most. They’re a paper-bag waist, they’re a little bit pleated, they seem the wrong size, they’re bunching. They don’t look great when her hands are in her pockets…
… they don’t look good when her hands swing free…
… and changing the lighting doesn’t help, either. It’s a strange mix of too big and crotch-cling. Changing them might not solve all the problems, as the shirt is no great shakes either, but it’d be a positive start. I just can’t figure out how the messaging is so mixed when Sadie herself seems like she should be a slam-dunk to style. Something is getting lost in translation.
